So it just happens to be my birthday today. Brian and the kids got me some nice lotions, chocolate, a giftcard to Starbucks, and a trip to Hawaii. (OK. It’s not an actual trip, but a DVD of Hawaiian hotspots set to relaxing music. I’m looking forward to watching it as I wind down to sleep tonight. Perhaps it will help relax me.) Christian gave me two more lovely gifts today. Gift #1 – sleeping past 6am. Lovely! Gift #2 – walking out of the school holding on to Miss J’s hand with a smile on his face, climbing the stairs to his seat by himself, and not a peep out of his mouth as I buckled him in. Amazing! I could not have been prouder!!! He only said, “Stuck!” a couple of times on the way home, which is a request for being let out of his seat, but didn’t complain when I told him that he needed to stay stuck until we got home. I am still in a state of shock (in the good way) over how well it went. I knew he could do it and I’m just so proud of him! 🙂
Thought of gift #3 – pooing on the toilet. Makes me SO happy! 🙂
Gift #4 – eating the horrible looking pizza that I made him for supper. It looked great until I went to pull it out of the oven and it slipped between the racks landing face down in the bottom of the oven. I was concerned that he wouldn’t eat it because it “looked funny.” Not to worry he ate it up in less than 10 minutes! 🙂

Happy birthday! Welcome to 30-something. 😉
I’m SO GLAD to hear that Christian did so much better on the bus today! What an amazing gift! I’m glad you listened to your “mommy gut” and followed your instincts in making him ride the bus, even though it was hard to see your little guy so unhappy. Christian is blessed to have you for his mommy.
Have a great sleep tonight, and another good day tomorrow!
