This blog is hopefully serving two purposes…

1) As a journal for myself.  Some days I have a hard time remembering things (challenges/blessings) that happen because of the amount (or lack thereof) of sleep in our home and I would like to just write them out for myself, so that I actually have a memory of things that happened in my life (and my children’s lives) at this stage.

2) As a connection to others with children with autism.  It’s hard to fully understand what living in a house with autism is like unless you are doing it 24/7.  I truly appreciate everyone to tries to understand.  Sometimes it is nice to hear from someone else in your same situation that challenges happen, but everyone will survive (and sometimes live to laugh about it)!  :)

I like to write before bed, after everyone in the house is sleeping, because it helps to clear my mind, remember the day, and reflect on the blessings and challenges of the day we just had and look forward to the day that lays ahead.  (By the end of most days I can smile at most misfortunes that we have had.) :)

I’m a stay-at-home mom.  My fabulous husband and I have two wonderful children.  I have been intrigued by my husband from the moment we met.  Our family has had some challenging times, but we are determined to power through them with the help of God.  (Because really, that is the only thing that will get us through!)  I believe that all things happen for a reason, even if the reasons are not evident in this lifetime.

Sleep is something that is not consistent in our home.  You never know from one night to the next what you are going to get - hence the blog title…
